Canada's Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is administered by the Canadian federal Department of Health (otherwise known as Health Canada) which is the Canadian equivalent of the Hazard Communication Standard administered by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), U.S. Department Labor.

The WHMIS website is geared toward the needs of Canadian and foreign suppliers, or their representatives, to help them comply with the requirements of WHMIS before they sell or import hazardous materials for use in Canadian workplaces. American chemical suppliers may find the WHMIS website useful in complying with Canada's laws concerning the import of hazardous materials. The Health Canada website is as
