Sanitary certificates are required for imports of plants and plant products. Certificates for cotton imports require the following statement: “The cotton in this shipment is free of the cotton boll weevil anthonomus grandis.” Certificates for citrus plants must include the statement “Deuterophoma Tracheiphila is not known to occur in the United States.”

Health certificates are requirer for meat and ppoultry. The certificate must state that the product does not contain products or byproducts of pig, boar, hog, or swine. The certificate also must indicate that the products were derived from animals slaughtered according to Islamic ritual
