When shipping U.S. made products to Malaysia, the U.S. exporter should provide the following documents:

Commercial Invoice: An invoice on company letterhead is required when exporting a product sold to a buyer in Malaysia. Three copies should be sent under separate cover to the consignee. Some key information that should be listed on the invoice includes a description of the goods; the monetary value of the goods, the net, or unit weight; information on the country of origin (manufacture); frieght and insurance costs; any other charges or discounts as individual line items; and HS tariff classification code.

Air Waybill or Bill of Lading: The carrier of freight forwarder will usually generate and provide this document.

Packing lists, freight accounts, insurance certificates: Documents such as these should be provided.

Additional Documenation that May Be Required:

Certificate of Origin: Needed only when requested by the importer or the Customs Authority of the importing country.

Other documentation may be required based on the circumstances of sale. For example, Health or Halal certificates of free sale may be required for certain foods as well as consumable or health related items. Please confirm with the importer whether additional documentation will be needed.
